Thompson Square React To 2011 CMT Music Awards Nomination for Duo of The Year

Nashville, TN (April 27, 2011)–It was announced today that Stoney Creek Records' Thompson Square have been nominated for the 2011 CMT Music Awards' Duo of the Year award, as well as the previously announced USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year award. Both nominations are for the husband-and-wife duo’s #1 single, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not.” The accompanying music video spent 10 consecutive weeks in the Top 5 on the CMT Top 20 Countdown.

“We were thrilled for one nomination and now we have two,” says an excited Keifer Thompson. “This is amazing! We were so proud of our first music video for 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not'.”

Shawna Thompson adds, “Keifer and I are just over the moon with these nominations! We have so many people to thank for supporting us on this great journey– especially Wes Edwards for directing such a beautiful visual to go along with our single. It has been a blessed year for us!”

Thompson Square burst on to the country music scene with the release of their self-titled debut album in February 2011, earning the #3 spot on the Top Country Albums chart, making it the biggest first week album sales debut by a country artist in 2011. Their breakout single, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not,” recently reached the coveted #1 spot on the radio charts and is the #2 selling single of 2011 so far with 971,361 paid downloads.
