Joe Nichols’ new album Crickets is available today and already the RED BOW Records release is earning positive reviews from music critics.

The Associated Press declares that Nichols “. . .stands above most of the new country stars to rise in his wake” and exudes a “swagger equal to that of Tim McGraw and Trace Adkins.”

The Great American Country channel (GAC) echoes these sentiments, stating: “Crickets is easily one of the singer’s best projects to date.”

DigitalJournal.com lauded Crickets as one of its “Best Male Country Releases of 2013.”  The album landed at #2 on the list.  DigitalJournal.com proclaimed:  “ Joe Nichols is back stronger than ever with his latest album. . .You can really hear Nichols’ heart on this album and his love for the country genre.”

Raves GotCountryOnline.com:  “Crickets fulfills every expectation one has for a country album. Joe Nichols has officially begun to take the next step in his career, and it will only continue on up from here.”

Boasting 16 tracks, Crickets includes the multi-award winning artist’s current single “Sunny and 75,” a Top 12 and climbing hit.  For a limited time, fans can purchase Crickets at special prices at both Walmart ($8.00) and iTunes ($7.99).

“We signed Joe to RED BOW, our new partnership between Sony RED and the BBR Music Group, the very day we publicly announced the formation of the label, for good reason,” said BBR Music Group President/CEO Benny Brown.  “He is one of the format’s finest singers.  The integrity he brings to his music is second to none and we knew if given the right opportunity, he would go into the studio and create a slam dunk.”

Nichols told Billboard magazine: “It’s a fresh kind of sound for me, a little more progressive than I’ve done before…I think it’s a really cool and modern take on what I like to do.”

ABOUT JOE NICHOLS:
Joe Nichols was one of the first artists signed to RED BOW Records, the newly created imprint of the highly successful BBR Music Group and Sony RED. His current Top 12 single –“Sunny and 75” – was one of the most added songs at country radio upon its debut, and by far the biggest radio add week of Joe’s career.

Nichols is one of country music’s most praised traditional country artists. He has four #1 hits and eight Top 10 singles to his credit, including chart-toppers like “Brokenheartsville,” “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” and “Gimmie That Girl,” and Top 10 smashes like “The Impossible,” “If Nobody Believed In You,” “What’s A Guy Gotta Do,” “Size Matters” and “I’ll Wait For You.”  The star has earned multiple RIAA platinum and gold certifications for his hit albums and singles.

During his career, Nichols has received four GRAMMY nominations, including Best Country Album and Best Country Male Vocal Performance (2 consecutive years) and Best Country Song for his #1 debut single “The Impossible.”

Nichols has won every “best new artist” award available in the field of country music: the prestigious Horizon Award from the Country Music Association; Top New Male Vocalist from the Academy of Country Music and CMT Breakthrough Video of the Year, as well as “new artist” awards from Billboard, Radio & Records and Music Row Magazine and a New York Times Best-Albums-of-the-Year nod.
